Our clinic was founded with a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place to keep our staff and patients safe from all types of communicable diseases.

Safety is our number one priority. We are asking all patients to follow the following protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, other patients, our staff, practitioners and the community at large.

For Our Patients

Masks

INFORMATION & EXPECTATIONS

Masks are required at all times until further notice. Please bring and wear your own mask at all times in the clinic space unless you are unable to wear a mask for the following reasons:

  • You’re unable to put on or remove a mask on your own;

  • For psychological/behavioural conditions; or

  • You’re unable to wear a mask due to a health condition

Please be respectful of our mask policy, but also be respectful of those who can’t wear a mask for one of the above reasons.

We are a healthcare clinic, extra precautions must be taken as we continue to provide essential healthcare services. If you do not have a mask we can provide one for you.

Symptoms Screening

COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire.  24-48 hours before your in-person visit you will be sent a screening questionnaire to ensure that you are symptom-free before your visit. Please fill out that questionnaire and contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns about your responses.

Please do not come to your appointment if you feel unwell. If you have an appointment scheduled to be in-person, and you feel sick, please contact us and we can change your appointment to virtual so that you can be seen by the doctor. Alternatively, if you need to cancel your appointment, please contact us. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, we encourage you to call 8-1-1, to speak with a public health nurse and arrange testing if advised to do so. The BC Centre for Disease Control provides information about where to get COVID-19 tests done. If you are unsure if it is COVID-19, then you can use the Government of BC’s COVID-19 self-assessment tool.

Physical Distancing

Keep your distance. Please space yourself from other patients and staff in the waiting room and in other high traffic areas.

Check in for your appointment. If the waiting room is crowded when you arrive, please do a self check-in with the QR code posted on the clinic door and wait in the hallway until space frees up in the waiting room.

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your visit. Please do not bring visitors to your appointment. We understand that some patients need to come with a caregiver, chaperon or support person.

Hygiene and Sanitization

Hand hygiene is required. Please use hand sanitizer upon arrival at the clinic both before and after your visit. Should you wish to wash your hands with water and soap, a sink will be provided.

Contactless Transactions

Contactless payments. We are not accepting cash. We can process your payment through a secure stored credit card in the JaneApp booking system or by Debit and Credit through our point of sale system. We will also bill your insurance company directly if applicable.

Contactless receipts. We will provide you with an electronic receipt by email after each of your visits. Should you require a printed receipt, we can print one for you upon your request.

Our Staff

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

In addition to our protocols geared towards patients and patient safety, our staff are doing their part.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Masks and other PPE. Our staff and practitioners continue to wear masks at all times while in the clinic. Practitioners may use additional PPE including gloves, gowns, protective eyewear, and face shields as needed to provide safe and effective care.

Symptoms Screening

Symptom free. Just as we expect our patients to be symptom-free, our practitioners and staff must be symptom-free in order to work in the clinic. We have implemented policies to support staff who have symptoms of a communicable disease, so they can avoid being at the workplace when sick.

Remote reception. We appreciate your patience as some days we may only have remote front desk staff. We may contact you to shuffle or reschedule your appointment out of an abundance of caution if any of our staff show symptoms of a communicable disease.

Safe Screen BC. Our staff will be participating in a workplace rapid antigen screening program to help reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Please note these rapid tests are only available for staff and practitioners of Luna Health Clinic, and are not available for patients.

Physical Distancing

Waiting room. We have arranged our waiting room and clinic space to maximize the distance between patients, staff and practitioners wherever possible.

Hygiene and Sanitization

Enhanced cleaning and infection control protocols. Each treatment room is cleaned and disinfected after each patient visit. Our staff are cleaning and disinfecting all other high-touch surfaces hourly, or more, as needed. We are engaging professional cleaning services after the clinic closes each evening.

Updated ventilation. Our clinic was built in 2022. We have modern ventilation systems that run consistently during the clinic’s operating hours.

Enhanced Air Purification. We have installed a professional grade HEPA air purification unit to filter bacteria, viruses, dust, mold, pollen, and particulate matter from the air.

Offering Telemedicine and Virtual Visits

Telemedicine is here to stay. Though some types of visits are only offered in-person, consultations can be offered through secure virtual video conferencing. Consider choosing a telemedicine visit if and when you are feeling unwell.
